Our band is a tool for evangelism. Either the mission is to plant seeds or to harvest, we are willing to try our best. We can partner with English, Mandarin or Cantonese speaker for evangelistic events.

Union Band

Union band is a Christian band consists of six music lovers. It started with a couple of friends playing music together in a member's basement in 2002. The early members were Adam Chau, Timothy Kwan, Jimmy Yiu and Philip Wong. In 2003 Stephen Woo, Eric Chau and Philip Cheung joined in 2003. Gordon Chan also join us as our sound, graphic and video engineer. All of us came from different churches in Greater Toronto Area.

We started in secular music with strong guitar lead or saxophone lead music.  In 2004, the name "UniSon" was established just before our first musical event, which was to provide music to a  line dancing ministry party at the  Richmond Hill Chinese Community Church. The name "Unison" means united under our God's only son, Jesus Christ.

None of us were particularly talented nor professionally trained musicians but individually we each involved in music since teenager time. Every progress is our learning experience. From those rich in rhythm dancing music to Christian songs, our song selections were tailored on the event we are attending.

In 2007, along with Rev. Jim Tam and Rev. Peter Au, we started providing music for some evangelistic meetings for Churches in different cities of Ontario.

Mission

Unison Band started with the love of music without much deep thought of what we can or cannot do. We are more than glad if we can be of use of good purpose. Either we can be use to spread the Gospel, to raise fund for charity organizations, or to provide music for Church events, we will try our best to do it.

Music journey

The band gathers and rehears one night a week. We welcome music lovers to join us in sharing their knowledge and skills. In fact, we do invite our guest to perform along with us in many events. It just happened that all of us immigrated from Hong Kong and had a strong influence by the music from there between 1960s to 1990s. In addition, from time to time, we pick up some current new pieces. The next step for us is to try to compose and arrange music. Our member, Eric Chau, has particular interest Chinese lyrics and had contribute to our songs we currently perform.
